Embracing Challenges - Creating Opportunities (ECCO)
ECCO provides individual, group and
family therapy for youth ages 13-18 who have issues with
substance use and abuse. ECCO increases youths’ capacity
to identify and manage the signs of risk that lead to
substance use, and teaches them the skills that will
prevent further use. Clients are referred by Pima County
Juvenile Courts, parents, schools and other local
agencies.
Treatment is customized based on the
presenting problems, parental concerns and issues
identified at intake. Experienced clinicians ensure that
youth get the most comprehensive care possible.
The program includes weekly group
therapy, individual and family therapy. ECCO groups –
which are free – meet Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at
JFCS. Individual sessions are by appointment.

Project Safe Place (PSP)
Abuse of children and youth in the form of sexual
crimes, violence and other traumatic events is a serious
problem in our society, and here in our community. Child
sexual abuse and trauma happens to children in every
kind of family, neighborhood, and community.
Fortunately, with the help of Project Safe Place (PSP),
children can recover completely and live normal, happy
lives.
PSP counseling services are available
to children as young as 3 up to young adults age 18.
Through age-appropriate supportive
counseling, PSP clients begin to develop positive coping
skills, the ability to trust, and to feel safe —
sometimes for the first time in their lives.
For additional
information on Project Safe Place, please
email the Program Manager or call 520-795-0300, Ext.
